Keep your technology stack lean

Don’t add that shiny new database to your stack.

Unless you really have to.

Because every service has a maintenance cost.

Because, in the future, you will have to debug that service when it misbehaves.

Because the more you use it, the more you’ll have to understand how its internals work.

So, if you can use the existing database, please do.
